Gingerbread Houses

Gingerbread House

I came across this picture last year but didn't get the directions.
So we came up with our own.

Use your favorite gingerbread recipe or use
Betty Crocker Cookie Gingerbread mix.
Mix together ingredients and let dough rest for 30 minutes.
Roll out and cut dough with a nonstick pizza cutter.
Bake on parchment paper.
Cool completely and store in a air-tight container for 24 hours.

Assemble Houses with Royal Frosting.
(3 egg whites, 1 pkg. confectioners sugar &
1/2 tsp. cream of tarter.)

The houses can be what ever size you want!
For a mug I measured 3x3 for front & back with the roof included.
The door way is 1 3/4 x 1/2 inch.
(this can vary on the size of mug)
The sides are 2x3.
The roof is 2 1/2 x 3 1/2.

Make designs with your frosting or add crusted candy canes.
You can be as creative as you want for decorating your house.
Have fun!

Christmas at Annabelle's in November!

Welcome to Annabelle's Christmas Open House!

Our theme this year was " Owl about Christmas"!
If you'll notice there are all different colors
of glass owl ornaments & bird cages on the trees.

Our customers were a delight!
My friend MaryAnn's Mother & Sister came all the way from Chicago.

It was nice to see my friends & customers having fun!

And this is the youngest customer
which is my new granddaughter Hannah.
She did not like to hear it was time to go because
she had not finished shopping & visiting
with her grandmother! lol

MaryAnn's sister Jo from Chicago
put these pictures of the store together.
She did a beautiful job. Thanks Jo!

Well it was a hoot!
Come visit us again!

Easter Fun!

Spring is at Annabelle's!

As I was looking for ideas for my own centerpiece for spring
I came across these.
I thought you might enjoy them.

Display all you wonderful chocolates in a basket!
From bunnies, chickens & eggs.

Or spray a vintage basket lightly.
Then stuff the bottom with paper and line the rest of it
with plastic and fill with potting soil.
Plant some clover which will spread & thicken.
Then add your bunny and colored eggs
and finish with some pretty ribbon!

These look like fun!
They are made of wrapped paper streamers.
As you unwind the paper, you find little trinkets.
Fill them with jewelry, a novelty, a toy.
Display them as a centerpiece or leave them by the
door as favors.

Use your egg cups for cut  flowers.

Or---
fill empty egg shells with tiny little flowers
and place them in your egg cups.

Decorated bird nest also bring the look of Spring!
Add fresh pussy willow branches to your nest.
Then fill it with decorative eggs.

Or use pliable birch branches
and circle an ordinary wooden basket.
Attach it with 24-gauge brown wire.
Line with plastic and fill with potting soil
 and plant your flowers.
There-----you have a beautiful
centerpiece and the aroma-- mmmmmmmm!

I hope this inspired you!

Where is Cupid?

I don't see cupid anywhere!
But I love these red accessories!

I do see Mr. penguin though. Oh, he looks bashful.

Any one for Tea?

You can add some red with your white dishes
 for several holidays!

Aprons are so much fun!

Fun hearts , frames, candles & more!

These wallets would make wonderful
gifts for your friend or Valentine!

Don't forget that special piece of jewelry.

Oh yes, pillows are such a needed accessory!

There you are Mr. Cupid.
Be careful where you shoot those arrows!

Yes,  Love has pierced my heart!
Happy Valentines Day!
